Hey guys .. i play only British civ .. IS it effective to use British civ against all other civs in an x1 game ?

If you are the same ProPlayer97 that I casted last night, I would say until you get to a bit higher of a PR, that British can be effectively used in any MU. Against more skilled opponents however, India is a perfect counter to British. Honestly, I think if you would pick up France as well, you could get to a very high PR using those two civs alone. Ofc, I am sure another player may say otherwise.

British are just such a strong civilization, if you're blessed with naturally high APM so that you can take advantage of their full potential, they become even more OP at the same PR levels.

India is somewhat of a counter to British, but I don't think it is a perfect counter by any means. I feel the mu is pretty close, just India has a slight advantage (assuming British has decent hunts). If we are talking RE, iro, otto, china (at least on herdable maps imo) and France are all stronger counters, as these mus do not feel very balanced at all.

Excluding iro otto fra and germany, british is probably the next civ that has the least strong counters

I think you should play brits for some time, you will get bored of it sometime soon. Like I used to play just french but when I tried some new civs game became more interesting to me, however, that's a slow approach to be a good player. A good player knows the weakness of every civ to counter it, and the best way to know is to play each civ enough times to get the idea of its power, timing, weak spots and all the key elements.
