Basically just don't let France reach late game. Its easy to prevent them from getting to industrial. I'm not saying its an easy matchup though. Also, rememeber everybody that this is Nilla where Eco Theory/Thouroughbreds don't exist, upgrade cards have less of an effect and you only have 20 card slots anyways.

some people have bought the game before TAD was even launched and they dont wanna pay for TAD, so..it justifies

Assuming same skill level there is a chance with Russia or Japan.
Assuming superior skill level victory is highly probable with any of the main Euro civs. The biggest threat is in team games with base running where defeat can occur quickly regardless of skill level.

Bow and arrow civs have no chance even if god himself was commanding them. Gendarmes and skirmishes cut them to ribbons.

Thought: if EP wants to appeal to team players, step 1 is probably removing Thoroughbreds.
