I remember back in the day when I used to vanilla I used to play with a top player at the time. The jist of the strategy was I would play Ottoman and he would play some other aggressive civ. Instead of just playing normally or whatever I would constantly feed my teammate resources via the donate option and by letting him get any crates or treasure I would happen upon. It would result in him aging up extremely early. He would then use this to pressure them before sometimes they had even begun to age. I remember beating some pretty highly ranked people at the time. Do you think this is still possible?

This is actually a strat I've considered for a 2v2 where one civ feeds a Russia for example who ages super quick, goes for a super aggressive bh and sends 5 coss before the opponent has even clicked up.

You lose res when you tribute but if you can snowball the advantage with an fi or superfast units it can be good.
