If there's an autumn tourney again or an invitational or w/e, all games on Thanksgiving weekend should be played on Plymouth
Re: What's the best map from RE in your opinion?
Yeah, Plymouth is actually pretty legit, would be fun to play some there... @EAGLEMUT

lol silk road and himalayas are so bad half the time, himalayars probably even more, often your 2nd hunt is like at half map, and you dont have any 2nd mine. It's like the rushers wet dream, although there are many maps like that in the re map pool. silk road can be good, or it can be very bad. i think the asian spawn is worse than the others, but im not sure.
there are no land maps in the re pool that are consistently good, the map that spawns with acceptable res distribution most of the time are Painted Desert and Siberia, but even they have screws sometimes, siberia more often than PD (which usually only has issues with mines, not hunts). Great plains is in the category most maps are, half the time you have a good spawn, the other half of the time you are shafted to the point where you might as well resign immediately. This category includes maps such as sonora, great lakes, bayou, new england, yellow river, yukon (mine far and/or no hunts in los at start) but also texas (no trees, first mine way too far) or himalayas, silk road, saguenay, borneo, great plains (2nd hunt far or extra mines exposed) And then there are maps where you are always shafted, aka ozarks etc. Yucatan is indeed probably the best Land/Water map, followed by Saguenay and then New England, in that order. Mapscrews do happen, less likely on yucatan, most likely on New England, but they are still much rarer than on many pure land maps. The pure water maps, indochina and hispaniola arent great for hunts or mines, but they are quite consistent, and mapscrews are rare or even non-existent.

Great Lakes
Re: What's the best map from RE in your opinion?
Lol great lakes. You can have no mines on your side of the map. Imo:
Andes (if we dont count the river spawn) solves the devs incompetence in mapmaking by adding a huge first hunt. Still better than most re bs. Paintes desert is pretty good but no tps and siberia is kinda okay because the tower compensates for poor mines and sometimes shitty hunts (that being said I actually lost a tournamenr game on siberia because I had 2 mines on my side of the map). Silk road is kinda okay. Mongolia has a large first hunt, usually you get a decent amount of yaks and theres some berries, 2nd hunt is shit but the mine is a gold mine so thats kinda okay. New england is okayish but ships in the pond and you sometimes dont have a first hunt. Deccan is the most balanced maybe but it has the high starting crates. Great plains sometimes gives a proper spawn, but in 1v1 very rarely and in any other game mode actually just not.

RE stands for Robot Entertainment, which was the company that made the last official TAD patch (1.03), I recall. Hence, it's usually referred to TAD as a whole, on the contrary to patches like EP (ESOC Patch) or TP (Treaty Patch).

Guess what — it's not in the QS map pool!

The best map is Great Plains, I know what I'm getting most times. Flail works quite well on that map.

Except gp xan go from perfect huge bison hunt, 2 mines and a significant first tp pass to no 2nd hunt or mine and due to spawn losing the first pass to your opponent. A very balanced map indeed.

I like it because you have to adjust. You have to be ready for anything including poor starting hunts which force you to aggressively take ground early in hopes of securing more natural resources.

I like its design, not saying it's balanced. Shame it hasn't been remadeJerom wrote:Lol great lakes. You can have no mines on your side of the map.

I've never spawned without the 2nd mine, for one.

Idk with warships being like they are, I really dont know. I like some of the asian maps which start with a decent fixed hunt that's pretty large compared to the nilla maps, that's the best attempt RE has made at balancing maps.
If we're talking about design, I like something about rockies and northwest territory.

fixed hunts are terrible imo. your age up time can differ on siberia, indochina, borneo or silk road only depending on how far your fixed hunt spawns from your tc. And there is nothing you can do about it =_=
