Scout Rush
Scout Rush
Hi,
Last week, I played lost and I lost very badly to a aenna/scout rush from the Iroquois player. How good is the scout rush really? O see the scouts as weaker coyote runners with no multipliers against them.

You mean the native scouts? You can spam them as Sioux nicely and burn people's cities with the siege dance :O

Re: Scout Rush
As someone who doesn't play EP, is it viable then on normal ol' TAD? Sounds like fun.
Edit- and also how does it work?

Re: Scout Rush
I guess it's not terrible. I've seen aiz take out a couple of opponents in FFA with it but I've never done it myself.

There's a card for native American civs called (advanced scouts) that lets u train them from TC for 90 wood each and gives them 200% damage and HP buff. Since they don't have any tags, no units have multipliers, and they can go invisible/snare like French scout.

Was looking more for build order. Something like 3 vills -> 700 wood -> AS?

Re: Scout Rush
According to Diarouga, pick Sioux, age with 15 villagers, build 1 or 2 TPs during transition, then Advanced Scouts 700 600 or 4 Axe Riders

Re: Scout Rush
you pretty much go all in with scouts - cos you spawn them at your TC. So you cannot make villagers. You get all the wood you can get, and just spawn them, after getting the card that makes them 200% stronger. Its a good strategy for someone who would never expect it. And most ppl wouldn't
Its kind of a surprise move, not unlike the french going all in with their villag3s I guess

Hippocrits are the worst of animals. I love elifants.
Re: Scout Rush
I think it can be taken out with CM vill fight and tc fire and unit pop
Re: Scout Rush
If he goes aenna kanya toma rush you'll die faster imo.
Re: Scout Rush
I always thought it was a bit silly for the EP team to nerf this build. It seems like they only did so because it isn't meta, and therefore cannot be anticipated.

i think it was just a side effect of removing the french scout snare

IIRC, the card itself was nerfed. I could be wrong though.

Right here?
❖ Native Scout snare-effect removed.

Removing the snare effect in almost no way does affect the entire strategy

I thought the card itself had been nerfed, but I'm probably. But either way, I don't know how you can argue that removing a melee unit's snare would not have a detrimental effect on a strategy built around said melee unit.

Re: Scout Rush
I said almost, with WC aura and their regular speed it's not that relevant, especially if you have a big mass.
Re: Scout Rush
The card itself was not changed, but removing the snare is obviously a massive nerf of this strat as a side-effect. I would go as far as to say it makes the strat obsolete, since having a one-unit composition of non-snaring melee units is pretty damn useless - you will not catch anything and get kited to death by any ranged unit.
It definitely is relevant. Sioux WC does help a bit but he can be just killed off. Not to mention Iro WC doesn't help with snaring at all and Aztec WC very little.

Re: Scout Rush
I referred mainly to the alleged card nerf and had in mind mostly Sioux, but you're perhaps right — still, though, I wouldn't go as far as calling the entire strategy not viable on EP
