Proper way to deal with German Mercs on Deccan as Aztec?

The title says it all. I must shamelessly self-plug yet again, but I've played vs this twice today. I lost both times. In fact I mostly just lost today, but oh well.

So basically I think that the idea would be to kill him before he gets out his mercenaries. I think doing an all-in rush doesn't work (sure you do damage but not enough to win the game really). I think playing eco and giving him time plays right into his hands. So the question is, what is the correct counter-play?

Also if anyone has some Azzy advice I'm kinda interested because they're a fun civ but I'm super clueless with them.

My tentative thoughts:

He builds two tps and naked ffs. I'd do normal Deccan start, 700w, 6 puma, siege tps (w/explorer for dat xp), make coyo from warhut, raid/be a nuisance. Remember he doesn't make units in transition. After tps ded ship 600w and take the 3 tp line and upgrade stagecoach and put on wood (each one = 4v). Then mass w/unit shipments and maybe 600c. If you stagecoach you don't need 5v since you'll have +12 vill.

The idea is to slow his age up with raiding coyo, take advantage of op stagecoach and remove his source of xp which fuels his op German age 3 shipments, all the while setting up an eco to fund an ball of death he won't be able to kill mercs or not.

Use XP dance bruh, in g1 you lost too many units for free (mainly mace out of position) and pretty sure you need coyotes, also if a game lasts that long you need 10 WP dancing. Sending coyote combat when you don't even have or train coyotes is also an interesting decision, couldve sent 3 WP instead.
