Personally I never use this card. (rarely make rajputs) However it just dawned on me. All melee attacks included cav melee as well? For some reason I excluded that from my thought. That would however make the card more worth while. But is this true?

That card is going definately back in my deck.
Yeah this card is good for Sowar but also for Urumi. Mahout also get a boost from it. It's a nice card to have when you're out of anything else to send and you're going for a war of attrition. Having slightly more cost-efficient units helps. India scales pretty well in prolonged games, they have great units and economy, they're just slow. So this card kind of plays into that.
btw definitely is spelled "definite" + "ly", no worries though
Re: Ryu's Sepoy Rush (well it's not mine but w/e)
I've seen so many incorrect versions of „definitely" that I may have engoth of it

I veliebe Urumis have a ranged attack but they get real close for their animation. It is this reason why they do worse than expectations vs falcs. But DMM is still gucci when u're stuck in colonial and ur comp has sowars sepoys claws rajputs or flails in it
Re: Ryu's Sepoy Rush (well it's not mine but w/e)
they are fucking swordsmen
Re: Ryu's Sepoy Rush (well it's not mine but w/e)
They aren't ur typical puny swordsmen watch this https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=eMAsCuDFSUI

They have range in their melee just like some Chinese cav(don't remember the name)
Re: Ryu's Sepoy Rush (well it's not mine but w/e)
It's not the same, the Meteor Hammers have ranged melee attack, whereas Urumi have meleed ranged attack.
Re: Ryu's Sepoy Rush (well it's not mine but w/e)
Wait so does the card work on them or not?
Re: Ryu's Sepoy Rush (well it's not mine but w/e)
Urumi do ranged damage, but they need to be close - i.e. melee ranged attack.
Meteor Hammers do melee damage, but they can do it at a distance - i.e. ranged melee attack.

wait never mind i just checked in game their attack does increase with the card
Re: Ryu's Sepoy Rush (well it's not mine but w/e)
It's melee attack, with the type of damage being dealt as ranged.
That is my final offer and probably why the martial arts card works.

Twelve years later and Ensemble Studios still continue to amaze.

Yup, its their melee attack, they dont have a ranged attack, but they deal damage as if its ranged, so it ignores melee resists from heavy infantry. This also means urumi are quite shit at killing cannon, yet you see many people target cannon with them.
