Casting
I have to say that H20 is definitely the best caster.
Very insightful and clever and knows everything.
What u think? Who is best?

Re: Casting
The best is hard to say. You can base that on a couple of things like game knowledge, speaking fluency, the way how the stream is managed and the amount of hype (enthusiasm). H2O definitely scores well on game knowledge and speaking fluency, but it's different for every caster.

Re: Casting
I prefer british casters because you don't need any effort if you are a foreigner to understand them when they talk , like Inter or Wicked for instance. But yeah Ryan is really good

Re: Casting
I personally enjoy listening to my friends cast even though most are low bob captains and majors.
Re: Casting
I think that Veni, wicked or sam are the best.

My opinion is a fact tbh
Top quality poster.
Re: Casting
Chrisie, Interjection and Wicked are my favorites.
Re: Casting
Some casters are popular among novices because they talk about things that novices are not aware of, but every semi-seasoned player knows (e.g. stating that wood gathers slower than food or saying how awesome the shipment of 3 SW + 2 Uhlans is). While this doesn't necessarily hurt anyone who already knows these things, it sometimes does, because occasionally there is something more interesting that could be discussed - or even worse, something more interesting that was being discussed but was interrupted to talk about this irrelevant and/or blatantly obvious thing (e.g. Caster 1: "Japan is going for a TP in transition, do you think he is tryi..." Caster 2: "The Indian player just scouted the 85-wood treasure behind his Town Center with his monk. If he gets that his early colonial will be a lot smoother. Yeah, he is now going to get that treasure, this is so good for him." *Camera centers on Indian monks*).
Usually there is not a lot of insightful things to talk about, so this kind of commentary is mostly fine, although annoying at times. Seasoned players do not actually need much commentary (and a lot of them mute the stream I think); the important things are UI management and camera position - the two things other than commentary that the main caster is responsible for.
Camera position is if utmost importance, and there has been several times this tournament where fights have been neglected by the camera in favor of looking at much less important things. This should never happen, to be honest - it almost ruins the whole experience of watching a game. A lot of otherwise good casters lack the ability to properly use Aizamk's UI (or just forget about it), which is a shame since it is so informative, although not vital. And lastly, it would be nice to see consistent updating of the score. Right now the score is updated properly more often that not, but still not often enough to be able to trust it and not having to ask the Twitch chat - rendering the score display useless.
I personally value commentary the least, so any caster with a non-potato computer and a good internet connection who excels at camera positioning and UI management is a great caster. Ryan's commentaries of his own games, or of games of others that he observes and during which he communicates with the player in real-time (e.g. SirCallen vs __UhLaN__) are extremely informative, but I don't think that kind of commentary is possible in a normal tournament casting situation.

Pay more attention to detail.
Re: Casting
I had this idea, that a caster should cast as if they were on the radio. By this I mean, that you could observe the game without necessarily staring at the screen all the time. I don't know if this would work, just a thought.
Correlation doesn't mean causation.

Your stronger points are definitely speaking fluency and hype/enthusiasm.

Not sarcasm. Well, what can I say.. you have a way with words :)
I mean, sure, there are casters with better game knowledge around, but I consider your casting technique and interaction with the fellow co-caster to be very professional. It's definitely up there in the top.
I remember when you & callen on facecam did perhaps the first co-cast and how he was smitten with your casting skills
Should fix that computer of yours though, seems to crash rather often I'd say.

Awesome! I didn't see that actually, thanks for bringing it to my attention. I think I have a worthy replay I can send right now
