Or, oh I helped a stranger, but normally that's not how I am. For me, you are your actions. So to say you're not Kami (whoever that may be, I never really paid attention.), but you are incog, is nonsense imo. You are both, or rather, you have been both. It says you are capable of acting like incog, and capable of acting like kami, capable of lying about it, and capable of telling the truth. In short, you are another fallible human being. In the end, it's just a nickname, and an online account, and the fact that you can somewhat decide how or who you want to be is part of the online experience. Everyone does it, nothing to be ashamed of.
I'm not really ashamed about anything. I get what you're saying.
However I dislike that I ended up lying to people whom I hold in esteem. Does that make sense?
it's a figure of speech, and i'm not saying you should be lying, i'm just saying you should acknowledge that this kami is also a part of who you are, because you have shown thats how you can be. and thus, while you may have lied about a few things, such as name, place of birth, maybe age etc, these are exactly the things people most frequently lie about online. Part of the reason for that is, because they are reasonably trivial to what kind of person you are experienced to be. Or should be at least. That said, it's probably good you put it out in the open, so people can make their own decision.

Honestly I'm just in awe. No smurf or alt account has ever come close to fooling as many people for as much time is this. It'll be interesting to see how mods react. The only shitty thing is having to lie to friends, other than that it's pretty impressive imo.

@deleted_user4 Understandable you feel this way. Perhaps, knowing Incog, I can add some perspective.
Kami is Incog. Not exactly the same person, rather one is the whole person and one is only a part. All the best parts, you might say.
Incog has a bit of a French temper. Back when he was active as Incog, he was somewhat of a drama magnet. But it should be noted that the only reason he attracted drama was because he had ideas about ESOC and was passionate about them. He always had the best interest of the community in mind. It should also be noted that, back when ESOC became our new community hub, he was instrumental in making this happen. Our team back then was very small, and grew quickly, but Incog was always there.
Underneath the guy who sometimes got passionate defending his ideas about what ESOC should be is a fantastic human being. It is that person you got to know in Kami. Incog has been one of my closest online friends for almost 10 years now, and Kami was nothing new to me. It's the same person I knew all this time, minus the temper which I was never the target of anyway. I don't think you were, either. As Kami, Incog started worrying about appearances, but that is the only difference. It is the same person. With Incog going back to being 1 person rather than 2, I don't think he will change. He will remain Kami.

You almost never spoken to me with this account, incog was a good friend of mine, but well maybe you're the same person. My question is why did you hide your identity until now?kami_ryu wrote:After roughly 7 months of smurfing and subterfuge, it's time to reveal the truth. The cat is out of the bag. I'm incog.
AMA, I'll give an honest answer.

kami_ryu wrote:Ryu was a good guy. Rather, I tried to be, under the name Ryu, what a good person would be. What is the most reasonable thing to post? What is the most fun thing to say? Don't flame that person just because you don't agree. I made sure that everything I did as Ryu was the "right" thing to do...
...Ryu ended up being super endearing. At that point I considered simply dropping incog and staying ryu forever. I was chill with the community, could stream well, was having fun. However I don't think that was the right option.
And thus, Incog did what Kami would do—what is "right."
Anyway, as far as I'm concerned you've done nothing wrong. As Umeu, GoodSpeed, and others have pointed out, you are the same person, regardless of which name you bear. If anything, this outcome should be overwhelmingly positive.
