Hello Again
Hello Again
I have completed Basic Training! I actually ended up having to choose a different MOS. I was disqualified for flight due to my eyesight. However, I'm eligible for PRK, so once I've done that I can try again.
For the time being, I'm a 25S, Satellite Communications Operator/Maintainer with Airborne and Ranger in my contract. So from here I'll go to Fort Gordon, Georgia for 29 weeks of AIT. While I'm there, I'm considering getting back into to streaming in the evenings after classes. We'll see if it happens.
For the rest of today though, I'll be with my girlfriend and best friend, so - I'll check in again here on the bus ride to my AIT.
Cheers

Pro tip: Only use acronyms if you are with people who work in the same field.
Or am I the only one who doesn't know a single one of these?

Re: Hello Again
MOS = Military Occupational Specialty (Job in the military)
25S is my MOS Identifier, it essentially means "Satellite Communications Operator/Maintainer"
AIT = Advanced Individual Training, which is where I learn how to work in my MOS.
PRK = Photorefractive Keratectomy) is a type of refractive surgery to correct myopia (nearsightedness) I'll get PRK to correct my vision, thus allowing me to serve as a pilot.
Please use these to interpret my prior post.

Re: Hello Again
Considering that you managed to get airborne and RASP, I'm surprised you didn't default to needs of the army after being disqualified from your original MOS. I've heard so many nightmare stories about people getting an 11x option 40 and getting stuck in the 82nd airborne or being assigned something stupid like a carpenter MOS. Anyways, I hope your surgery goes well and you get the job you wanted!

I didn't sign until I got what I wanted. I couldn't go forward with aviation so I chose a new MOS and lucked out with 25S Option 40 being available with a 40k bonus.

Halfway through AIT. Hurricane on it's way, just chilling. Still haven't brought myself to buy a new laptop after 20 weeks here, but I've been playing Rainbow Six Siege on Xbox.

Re: Hello Again
what can I say, always late to the game. If you want to come back Neuron or site (or what you call yourself these days) I will think that is a good thing for us. I do not agree with you on many issues, but on some I do, and I always read your comments with interest
