Calvin and Hobbes Appreciation Thread
It's probably one of the best things ever. Post your favorite strips here. Here's one of mine, specifically the last panel with text and the image at the bottom.

Anyway, nuancing isn't your forte, so I'll agree with you like I would with a 8 year old: violence is bad, don't do hard drugs and stay in school Benj98

I find it impossible anyone can dislike a good Calvin and Hobbes spam. We haven't even seen such a thing on these forums before. Perhaps there are people who are unacquainted? I'll cease for now.

Re: Calvin and Hobbes Appreciation Thread
I'm glad to see a fellow enthusiast on the forums :). This was literally my childhood; I owned all the collections.

Re: Calvin and Hobbes Appreciation Thread
Calvin in Hobbes strips are probably some of my favorite things I have ever read. The way he presents philosophical questions in such an innocent, dry, and humorous way is just pure genius.

soon we'll have a roald dahl appreciation thread
Re: Calvin and Hobbes Appreciation Thread
i memorized the first panel of this comic when i was like 10 years old simply because i loved the verbosity of it. the cover art and title of "homocidal psycho jungle cat" was enough to make me (eventually) buy the entire collection of c&h books

I can't be the only one who thought this thread was about Jean Calvin and Thomas Hobbes, right?

I'm more familiar with the Franco-Belgian comics. The only foreign comics I know of is Garfield, Charlie Brown and Mafalda LUL

That's what I thought at first when I saw the title of the topic. /shrug

@Dolan
It's no idle coincidence the comic borrows it's name from the two philosophers. Perhaps if you read some comics you'll start to see why. If so fueled by disappointment by the contents of this thread please feel free to make your own thread about the actual philosophers John Calvin and Thomas Hobbes as to properly satisfy your great intellect.

I remember I used to read newspapers back when I was India, and they had Calvin and hobbes story lines which were my favourite part of the day a lot of times

Re: Calvin and Hobbes Appreciation Thread
I found Calvin and Hobbes during my 8th grade math class. I'd sit in the back, and there was a bookshelf with some Calvin and Hobbes comics. At first I'd just read in like the last 5 mins after I was done with everything. Eventually I started spending pretty much the entire class reading it.
