Dumb Computer Question
Dumb Computer Question
So I have been playing BF1 since release and the game has always had choppy issues. It would freeze up for a second sometimes when I turn and the FPS orange icon would pop up the whole time I game. I thought it was my video card a GTX 970 that was having the issues. I found out yesterday than my CPU is an i5 4460 and the games min requirements is an i5 6000 or something to that nature. Would that be a reason why my FPS suffer and I am always getting 20-30 fps? My card is above the min requirements. I plan on dropping some cash for a budget i5 or Ryzen if that's what you guys think.
Re: Dumb Computer Question
An i5 of that generation should be plenty. This sounds like a RAM issue. @EAGLEMUT may be able to help he is very handsome.

I looked it up: i5 4460 and a GTX960 gets around 40fps.

Yeah but no benchmarks I could find. He definitely should be getting more than 40 with a 970.
Re: Dumb Computer Question
Try running Windows Task Manager in the background and you should be able to see there which component is used to its maximum, be it CPU/RAM/disk.
Re: Dumb Computer Question

CPU - Stayed around 98=95%
RAM - 98-95%
Disk - 55-50%
Re: Dumb Computer Question
Looks bad! how much ram do you have?
Re: Dumb Computer Question
if he has a prebuilt with a 4460 its more likely than not 8
Re: Dumb Computer Question
