1 without any hesitation, even though I spent some time in office hours with my art history teacher to understand the relevance of movements such as De Stijl, "Abstract expressionism" (thinking about jackson pollock) and a few others. I then realized that most of the artist I couldn't understand were either drug addicts, alcoholics, or traumatized people so that can partly explain my ignorance.
You could have chosen much worse for your #2 though.
