I used to play volleyball until i started with uni, when i had to quit. After more than a year of couch potatoing i am starting some phisical activity again. I decided to go for jumping rope since: -It's easy; -You don't need to go outside when there's 4Ā°C to be consistent; -Doesn't really cost any money; -Involves a fair variety of muscles (you probably need to add a couple more excercise for the upper part of the body); -Doesn't take too much time; -It's realatively more fun than swimming or running (imo); -I heard it's less stressful on the joints than running, since you are landing on both your feets most of the times instead of one foot at a time. For now i'm just doing some 30 mins here and there, but i'm gonna become more consistent in the future and eventually let you know how it is going.

The most Important thing is that you have fun... On the other hand a man who is sitting 8-12 hours infront of a desk should Train his Back, M.erector spinae, Mm. rhomboidei, Mm. deltoideus pars spinalis etc. ! The reason why is, that the M. Pectoralis major and minor have the tendition to shorten. The result is that your shoulder will be pulled to the front, that can be the reason for a M.Bechterew and other Orthopedic Problems. These exercise donĀ“t have to be fun, they have to be done.

Wouldn't want to train the erector spinae muscles, you would want to inhibit them. If someone sits for too long them become over active and lead to someone having anterior pelvic tilt. I agree fully with the tight pec muscles, everyone reading this right now should put their shoulder blades back and down and feel more comfortable.

Your right, but nobody sits straight in a chair for hours. The main Porblem is that your discs take Damage, because they are not designed for sitting in a chair longer then 5 hours :)
thats not very much lol. When I swam I'd do a set of 100x10 on like a 1:10 interval. Yards so it was a tiny bit shorter but still 300m is like 5 minutes of swimming.

I never said it was much, I just said that's what I do.
