438.000 people mooching while 250.000 low skilled jobs are unfilled. CPB March 2018
Thats 438 million euros a month to able-bodied people refusing to work for Amazon-like shipping companies. Thats 6x Unilever tax evasion.
I'm probably going back to work in Asia after my Med I can't deal with this stupid socialism each day anymo.

I would say collective insurance rather than lottery. Agree 100% with the rest of your post.umeu wrote:Gendarme wrote:Except he has to work for it.

social welfare is a lottery system. we all pay, and those who get sick benefit. we pay because we don't know if we're the ones who get sick or not. but you don't just pay taxes for social welfare. which was my point. people always come up with the leeches. it's most likely less than 10% of the people who receive benefit. The taxpayer is fucked over way more by rich people and big corps evading taxes, than by poor people leeching. if you want to complain about something, then choose a worthy target.
But this is off topic.

Re: ESOC Crypto Corner
The welfare state implemented in many modern countries is massively flawed. Too many people leeching off the system whilst hard working citizens are left out to dry. It favours people to just stay unemployed and get generous amounts of money whilst increasing unemployment rates in the country even though there are a plethora of jobs. To be honest I don't blame the people, if its better for me to stay at home and not work then why should I go out and find a job? I blame the system used, it should be changed to suite modern society because as it currently stands it is unsustainable.

I think the free market thread is more suitable for this subject.

I'm back in. Not sure what the fuck that was all about, but new intel says that it's fine now. To the moon, baby!Gendarme wrote:I've heard secret rumors that it's time to temporarily exit the crypto market. Not sure when I'll do it myself—perhaps during this weekend. It's an unfortunate price to exit at considering we were at $10k/BTC just a few days ago, but the past is gone; what matters is now.
I won't give details and neither do I know whether there is any shred of truth to the rumors. Just a tip.

Ye it is. But an insurance is kinda like a lottery. You buy a ticket every year, but now you kinda hope u don't win. Like, i've paid my insurance fees for 6 years in a row since i was 21, and i've never made use of it beyond like going to the dentist for a yearly check up. When I went to the doctor for the first time in years i didnt even know he had retired and his replacement had moved to another office. But due to a series of incidents I suddenly spent a lot of time going to medical services in 2017. In 6 month my insurance basically covered the same amount as my fews for the past 6 years that i hadnt made use of.
But what many people dont get is that any insurance is always collective. It only works because we're not all getting sick a the same time. Your private insurance fees covers someone elses ilnesses. Thats why opting in and out of certain things because... Im never gonna get that disease etc, is eroding insurance coverage. Besides just overal greed and pushing up prices by the corps.

What will it take to reconcile you two? I'm getting pretty tired of your constant bickering. The worst part of it is that you're probably the oldest two people ITT. Think of the children.
