Worldwide sports are a conflict of interests of countries and nationalities. Each team is more than just players, it is money invested in them to gain international recognition. Why are the fans so agressive towards each other? If they are not, the competition loses it's point.

Governments don't spend hundreds of millions developing athletes just because they want a gold medal or a world cup as a return on their investment.
Btw @yurashic have you seen Icarus the documentary?
No, I haven't seen it.
I'm saying that it's war because I'm tired of seeing these people who blindly follow a certain team and are ready to physically damage someone for having another opinion. I also know a man who works as a sport doctor, he told me that nowadays it's mainly doctors that win cups, not athletes.
FIFA is a scam, they make countries build useless stadiums with a shitload of money, then the stadiums are mostly useless afterwards. Corrupt corporations must perish!!!! Also, EA's FIFA games are worse than the real life FIFA (a near-impossible feat)

I think your point of view comes from the penalties olympic committee did to your country and that has nothing to do with football.the competition doesn't lose its point when theres no agression between the fans.i dont watch world cup to see a fight between them.

Oh yeah, right, penalties, one more reason to dislike this. It's good that you reminded me.
Seriously? only 'football' usa is good at is sissy's rugby. They have gotten better over time though... But countries like Brazil BREED football players.
I don't see that happening (in case that was a serious comment)
But I am generally excited for the WC, it's hopefully a sanctuary where we can see primarily football apart from Club football where it's all about Transfers by now and the sport itself is seems secondary
yeah that would be horrible, I don't have the schedule in my head right now but hopefully the players will get some rest after the season before the WC starts. Especially the top national teams consisting of many players who played Europa League or Champions League until very late in the season were affected the most

For most of top players they won't get that much rest before the WC starts. For french players who plays in top team they will get less than a month. For example, Liga BBVA (Spanish league) will end on 28/05 and WC starts on 18/06 :/ Almost the same for the Barclays PL

Club Football is better apart from sheiks and their millions of dollars.

I'm just getting more disconnected with club football by the day, I don't get any excitement from it nowadays. Coaches get fired way too fast, players get their wills by strike, Player consultants coerce clubs with moves to other clubs if the share for themselves isn't high enough, Some clubs can just buy whoever the heck they want. It's very disconnected from the sport itself, not saying the national teams are completely pure, but at least there it's about football mostly
