My France being the favorite makes me convinced they'll lose in the quarter finals to like, Portugal or Germany. But this is the best team in a long time up against a field that lacks a real superpower. Germany might repeat and Spain and Brazil will probably be strong too.

I'm just getting more disconnected with club football by the day, I don't get any excitement from it nowadays. Coaches get fired way too fast, players get their wills by strike, Player consultants coerce clubs with moves to other clubs if the share for themselves isn't high enough, Some clubs can just buy whoever the heck they want. It's very disconnected from the sport itself, not saying the national teams are completely pure, but at least there it's about football mostly
I agree, but I think it is a difference between watching football occasionally on TV and going regularly into the stadium. The atmosphere is better in club football and you can experience the atmosphere in the stadion every week. Undoubtabely what you said is true, but it is more difficult to get disconnectet with club football when you are a big fan of a club even if there are many negative developments. Thats the only reason why I still like club football.
yeah I can understand that, although I have never been a frequent stadium visitor anyways when I was still living in my home city. I still cringe at every screwed up game or decision (wtf did they get Tayfun Korkut as Coach for now holy shit) but I tend to not watch the games, just the highlights
