@fightinfrenchman yeah you're right. i mean he's totally entitled to not enjoy hip-hop music, however it would be more accurate of him to then say "i don't enjoy rap music." the only reason to phrase it as "rap music is bad" is to be inflammatory

In my opinion, mainstream rap has been REALLY going down since Chief Keef or Gucci Mane as he's basically the father of the new gen rappers. Even though it's lyrically terrible and centered around bitches, jewels, codeine & other drugs, the word nigga repeated in every sentence, their love for Italian and French fashion brands, I still appreciate the musicality in Migos or Kodak Black.
But there are also rappers I just can't understand like XXXTentacion, 6ix9ine, Lil Pump or Lil Yachty...

Current rap is not bad because there are no good rappers, but rather because social media like Soundcloud and Youtube promote shitty rappers with the help of the dumb vox populi.

I think I dislike rap/hiphop so much simple due to the musics i head while growing up. every single music was about how awesome it is to be a criminal. Yea I see there is a social problem and someone growing up in a favela has a really hard time finding propper jobs and ascending socially, but those thousand musics talking about how they should just give up and start killing people arent doing any good.

Disclaimer, thats brazilian music, at that time I woulnt understand a single word of eminem or 2pac.

And about rithm/musicallity ignoring lyrics: its just hard to explain why someone like somethings and others dont, if someone has a propper theory about it, i'll all ears
I remmember getting a cd with bunch of random music in there, I wouldnt understand a single word in there, but I definetelly would say that those system of a down songs were great while the eminem ones were "meh"

Is why i don't like rap music, it promotes criminal behavior. I also find it laughable how drug dealers and pimps end up as role models for the youth these days. Half of the time these pathetic excuses of artists sing so fast that you can't even understand what words they are using. On one hand you dont get what they are saying, on another its about violence and crime. And turning the volume down can't happen when the neighbors have their car volume so loud its like a mini earthquake. Cops dont do anything about this because they seem to enjoy that shitty low quality sounds as well. The themes and beats are repetetive, and are rarely unique. This also ties into the 'dubstep' genre, where there is hardly any variety.
