What hobbies are an acceptable expenditure of money to you?
For starters, spending money on a decent sound system AFTER buying a decent car.
I prefer my personal vehicles to be speakers before they are cars.

Sounds like you have some preconceived notion and stereotype about this.
Care to elaborate?

Fair enough, and i prefer not to suffer from noise pollution.

Re: Rap Music Questionary
I think it's fair to be respectful to those who surround you. This would likely entail not using the sound system at late hours and while stationary.

I think the speaker systems make the music sound worse than it actually is, due to signal distortion. For example, try playing any rap album at 100% on laptop speaker, or connect it to an amp and then play it - you will hear some crackling distortion at high sound levels.

It's not intended to increase sound clarity or quality.
Distortion will occur in any audio recording at high enough decibels. There is a certain audible aesthetic which can accompany distortion. You even see artists intentionally using distortion sounds to give a piece that aesthetic at non-ear-damaging levels.

Re: Rap Music Questionary
I agree with @noissance and the others, mainstream rap music nowadays is a bit dumb, given some exceptions. The lyrics about drugs, gucci, criminality and things of the sort are pretty obnoxious imo.

The purpose of loudspeakers is simply to increase the volume. The quality of the sound at these high volumes can also be improved using a secondary sound source to destructively interfere with the distorted waves. You can cancel out most of the distortion using this method, with a feedback loop on a 2nd speaker.

Not aware if someone wrote that; the "lyrics" kinda lend themselves to that.
Re: Rap Music Questionary
Good speakers won't distort at high volume.

Re: Rap Music Questionary
There's nothing inherently wrong with hip hop, but a fucking lot of the popular hip hop is both an insult to poetry and to music.
Here's some hip hop that I do enjoy because the combination of the music/beat, lyrics, and voices of the singers are not bad:

Most of mainstream hip hop isn't trying to be poetic.
