Rap Music are Primitif music. Most of time , is always related to violence or worse. The poeple who stay on that world, they never go far in life...

Then I will not go far in life.

Out of curiosity, what do you deem to be "far?"

Troll bait not bit I just think it's a good question to ask. Perhaps I'll task a new thread to it.

why is it bad

The lyrics are bad. They also talk fast, which makes the songs more stressful.

Some songs are nice, though.

@Snuden well the low entrance threshold (Just a Microphone, pen and paper) is the beauty and at the same time the curse of rap. Beauty because you can just make Music just like that, no fancy stuff revolving around it, just your ideas and feelings. Curse because there are so many delusional amateurs with literally no self reflection and countless copycats of popular styles, thinking they found the holy grail

Yea I see there is a social problem and someone growing up in a favela has a really hard time finding propper jobs and ascending socially, but those thousand musics talking about how they should just give up and start killing people arent doing any good.

Disclaimer, thats brazilian music, at that time I woulnt understand a single word of eminem or 2pac.

And about rithm/musicallity ignoring lyrics: its just hard to explain why someone like somethings and others dont, if someone has a propper theory about it, i'll all ears :P
I remmember getting a cd with bunch of random music in there, I wouldnt understand a single word in there, but I definetelly would say that those system of a down songs were great while the eminem ones were "meh"

Is why i don't like rap music, it promotes criminal behavior. I also find it laughable how drug dealers and pimps end up as role models for the youth these days. Half of the time these pathetic excuses of artists sing so fast that you can't even understand what words they are using. On one hand you dont get what they are saying, on another its about violence and crime. And turning the volume down can't happen when the neighbors have their car volume so loud its like a mini earthquake. Cops dont do anything about this because they seem to enjoy that shitty low quality sounds as well. The themes and beats are repetetive, and are rarely unique. This also ties into the 'dubstep' genre, where there is hardly any variety.

Did you ever think about the fact that there's way more rap songs than the few most popular ones that you've heard?
Rap is a very deep genere especially in recent times that is constantly evolving, it is completly ignorant to think there's only artists rapping about crimes to generic dubstep beats, most people assume that because it is unfortunatly the most popular from of it.

2017 showed that rap has evolved a lot over the usual crime themes and most people rather rap about their lives or whatever is going on in the world right now.
The most recent Eminem and Gorillaz album are a great example and there's tons more which you obviously don't know about because you are just blindly hating on 5% of an extremly branched out genre.
You can feel free to dislike a music genere but saying it is generally bad without knowing shit is pretty damn dumb. Rap is the Rock'n Roll of the 21st century and you're one of the elderly men complaining about a "bad influence".

Yeah good point. Too often rappers don't even know how to sing. They just talk with a rhythm.

But that's not the main issue I have with hiphop and rap. It just lacks any passion, it's just beats, rapping and attitude (swag, moffo, fuck bitches etc). It's more like priming yourself for a fight by using rhyming battle cries. The musical part is mostly an afterthought, most of the time. Rap is basically like shouted urban blogging (mah feels, mah bad world, mah troubles, mah weed and womynz, mah confidence and swag, mah gunz, and more lately mah gucci sneakers).

Most rap today isn't worth a spit, tbh. It's stuff you would listen to while driving to the store, just to keep upbeat.

Rap and hiphop appeal to the monkey side in you, the one that likes to be territorial, aggro and swagger around to show its dominance.

When I feel aggressive and want to feel dominant I put on some Tchaikovsky, actually.

In fact, I think that's a very accurate description of rap and hiphop. It's more of a battle cry and vocalised blogging, rather than sung music.

What I'm sure is that there's no rap singer. There are barely any notes in rap vocals. How could there be, in fact, since to rap means "to talk rhythmically to the beat of rap music." To talk, mk? Not to sing.

There's basically one or two notes in this guy's rapping. It's possible that it's just a meme and nobody listens to it because they enjoy it. However, considering how popular Drake is/was, it wouldn't surprise me if people actually enjoyed that shit.

tribe called quest / big k.r.i.t. / milo / danny brown / j. cole

doesn't take that much digging. all of what i linked was made within the last ~4 years. and hey, you're entitled to not enjoy any of it but to deny its artistry, let alone the artistry of an entire genre, immediately tells me your opinion is worthless

and what's bad about aggression anyway?
