So sometimes you might need to make a list of things, whether it be things to bring on a weekend trip or steps to do to make sure something works right (for an ESOC friendly example, like setting up a stream).
This post is inspired by me hearing someone say to use a "mental checklist"
A mental checklist is the dumbest thing ever, and makes no sense. If you're gonna forget something, you'll just forget to put it in the "mental checklist." Always use a physical one if it's important, or use an app on your iPhone or Samsung Galaxy Nexus (or other smartphone). Will save you from having to redo a bunch of work that would waste time!

a mental checklist is a thing you use in case a physical checklist is not useful. For example when playing games a physical checklist sucks, or during exams you can't take a physical checklist with you.

if you're gonna forget something, youre also gonna forget to put it on your physical checklist. physical checklists are thus very silly. at least mental checklists train your memory and will reduce the chance that you forget something in the future. practice makes perfect after all.
