Food Box Over Food Stamps

I came across the following article
https://www.google.com/amp/amp.timeinc. ... arvest-box and I am interested to know what the American here think along with those of you who have a larger government food assistance program. Basicaly trump planes on saving money by creating a system where instead of only funds being distributed for food assistance the food itself is delivered. This is suposed to save a dog ifigant amount of money and also provide more nutritious meals instead of buying junk food from the grocery store. Abou half of the food stamp benefit will remain so people can still buy food on there own. I think this combination strategy is worth a try, what do you all think and do you have something similar in your country?

In theory less money and actual food Would be fine, I just wonder how someone could efficiently implement a distribution process like that for millions of Americans out of nothing.

Possibly an explanation of existing food banks or litlerly deliver the food on a monthly or biweekly basis. With the mail or other carrier.

I'm aware of corporate welfare. It is called getting a second job though and not breeding like rabbits when you don't have a career.

This is a really bad/dumb idea in just about every way.
