maybe it is just me, but some words in dialogues just ruin the atmosphere in there; i.e. "generazie" i guess it means generations. Bringing up that concept of subsequent generations who belong to each other doesnt feel medieval at all (just a noob feel) . looks nice tho.

Yeah, I agree. I like the authentic proto-Germanic and Middle English in 'Vikings' much better. Hard to understand for non-linguists though.
She's saying that Redbad has to make room for the next (Christian) generation I think.

This movie honestly seems like little more than anti-Christian propaganda. Unlikely to depict the story accurately.

Re: Swords, vikings, Franks and Dutchies
plz quote me henceforth @lejend cuz Im totally saying historically ''Christians ruined everything''.
Plz oh plz answer so we can have a lengthy discussion on how China has never attacked nor colonised any country in its 4000 year history compared to the atrocities committed by Christian Europeans whose legacies we still have to endure and face: Africa.
Oh and I totally think that North European cultures as that of the Germanic tribes and Northmen were vastly superior to the Southern Christian cultures. Men and women had inalienable freedoms and rights much similar to what our enlightened democracies have now but then ~1500 years ago and the current European human rights and democracy ideals are not a product of Christianity perse but borne from a cultural inheritance from these ages. Isn't it true that Northern European countries are more socialist-democratic and inclusive than puritan Christian North America?

Marco Polo is humm... Vikings I binge watched in 4 days continuously.
Don't forget about: The Last Kingdom about the same era. The Danelaw and King Æthelwulf and Cyning Ælfrǣd.

On a related note I really want to read more about actual history online. Wiki is often incomplete. Where should I look?
Harvard History courses online (Free) : https://www.edx.org/course/subject/history
Last Kingdom TV series 2 seasons. Not the movie. This is about the Vikings vs King Alfred the king of the Saxons.
Maybe magz ? But I can find better info/ books if you are more specific in age/region etc. For instance I have many books/ documentaries on English history and Chinese/Korean history. https://www.edx.org/course/china-part-1 ... x-sw12-1-0
What I think is really interesting is "The story of English" (book and TV show)

k. u reading Romance of the three kingdoms, San guo. No harm in watching that harvard vid. It's about the first emperor Qin. I would totally recommend you to study that history.
Theres TV dramas, movies even a game on that specific era. This is common cultural knowledge amongst billions of people.
