It's confusing. What if they're doing this to then launch a surprise attack.
Re: Korea finally calms it shit?
It's definitely a step in the right direction at least

The North's nuclear facilities collapsed due to a failed experiment. They're simply playing their last hand before the west finds out and they no longer have the advantage. Without the threat of nuclear weapons or research, North-Korea isn't nearly as intimidating, and they know it.
Re: Korea finally calms it shit?
I find the recent developments in Korea very interesting. It's important to note that North Korea hasn't said that it's disarming its nuclear stockpile; it's just ending tests and production. I figured that North Korea was a lost cause after Kim Jong Nam was murdered; Kim Jong Un seems to be more willing to negotiate than I thought. I presume their change of heart is due to Trump convincing China to impose sanctions on North Korea, and actually demanding that they be enforced. We still need to wait and see what happens; but it would be funny if some New York businessman famous for having a tacky fashion sense was better at geopolitical maneuvering than multiple politically experienced Harvard graduates.

The one thing Trump and the USA misunderstands is that there never has been nor will be any aggression or 'war' instigated by China or NK.

The only war that North Korea has ever been in - the Korean War - was started by NK.
While it is true that China has largely been the victim of foreign aggression (Opium wars, Japan, etc.) there are some notable exceptions (Vietnam, Western Expansion, Korea on numerous occasions).

The Korean war is /was a reaction to US actions and is viewed as a defence against white invaders. Vietnam too.

He meant the 1979-1980 chinese vietnamese war. China invaded vn as a response to vn invasion of cambodia.
China has also been the agressor in Tibet.
The korean war was more a civil war than a war of agression by nk as well.
The wars in vietnam are more complicated

Given the case that China has such a large area, most of its violence is directed internally. Hence the illusion that China hardly invades = is a peace-loving country.

Wikipedia Summary
The Korean War; 25 June 1950 – 27 July 1953) was a war between North Korea (with the support of China and the Soviet Union) and South Korea (with the principal support of the United States).[b]The war began on 25 June 1950 when North Korea invaded South Korea following a series of clashes along the border.[\b] The United Nations, with the United States as the principal force, came to the aid of South Korea. China came to the aid of North Korea, and the Soviet Union also gave some assistance to the North.
Before we even get into the "provocation", border skirmishes happen all the time. NK made the decision to escalate into a full scale war.
Regarding Vietnam, not referring to the Vietnam war, please see Umeu's reply.

Re: Korea finally calms it shit?
korea was just a war by proxy between usa and the communist block tbh. NK and SK were just pawns to be used. And they were.

I did attend a 2-year master at Yonsei university. Perhaps I got brainwashed into supporting NK propaganda at a catholic top ranking South Korean uni. founded by Americans, or maybe these commy professors teach their students shameless communist views on this war or...maybe we overlook something here. Wikipedia is righter than we.
Well. Anglo-Saxon cultural views reign supreme so screw all those silly cultures! Deus Vult @lejend

No offense cause it wouldnt matter if you were the smartest person in the world, but wikipedia is indeed more reliable.

Throughout the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s China recognized only North Korea

Then why can't Wikipedia explain (the Confucian dimension in) this?
Anglo-Saxon world view has been very limited in dealing with conflicts all over the world and we only have to look at Africa and research wikipedia for the myriad of erroneous European claims about those nations.
Wikipedia is bester than uni.
I am reminded of a Polynesian matriarchal society which has no puberty phase. But if you would look up puberty in wikipedia it is prolly presented as a physiological phase all adolescents experience.

Wikipedia is intellectually dangerous.
Re: Korea finally calms it shit?
to say that Wikipedia is more reliable than university training is not something very university-trained

My post was aimed at Radix where he mentions that NK attack on SK was a response to white invaders and not the fact the the NK government at the time wanted full communist control over Korea.
