When your meal is falling a bit flat and you want to "spice" things up, what do you usually turn to? What makes you the happiest? What holds the best position in your spice rack?

smoked paprika on tomato sauces is great. I couldn't live without salt soooo.. not much to think.

I'm one of those who don't like cilantro. I'd recommend a mix of some mentioned + a few others: herbes de provence. Great for bbqs (on chicken, grilled salmon, red meat), vegetables recipes like ratatouille, can also be used on pizza, it has tons of application. Most importantly, it smells like if you were in the middle of Provence, which adds to the experience while cooking

I voted salt, but would've gone GARLIC if it was offered. Maybe you consider it a vegetable...
