Favorite soup?

Post by fightinfrenchman »

I'm enjoying a bread bowl full of delicious soup right now, wondering what others think is the best soup.

Well?

Bonus points to anyone who guesses which of the above soups I have in front of me.

Ye that is definitely the way to go. I alleviate the need for crackers by putting the soup in a bread bowl though

yeah, I've many a time bought the seasonal turkey chili bread bowl with baguette at panera. For being otherwise an overpriced eating establishment you get a lot of calories for your buck with that meal.

I love tearing my teeth into the left over bowl like an animal into a carcass. I get some looks but there's no better way to eat it.

Is ramen a soup? That might be my favorite if we're going to let it be. If we subscribe to conservative soup theory, then I'll have to go with miso soup. On the other hand, if we're going with radical soup anarchy, my favorite soup is definitely tea.

Traditional ramen is my favorite food but I don't think it qualifies under the discussion's illustration of soup definition. Tea is out-of-the-question bonkers -- your boundary pushing has gone far enough. I ask you to stop this, the youth are impressionable.

For 1 bowl of soup, I put in 9 crackers. I have found that 10 is too much and 8 is not enough. An exception to this is if I'm eating a grilled cheese with the soup. In that case, 5 is the optimal amount of crackers because I dip the sandwich in the soup.

I don’t use crackers in soup except to dip. Granted, that’s if I have the will to make soup in the first place and am not laying on the basement floor eating slim Jims.

My mom makes a creamy sausage soup similar to the one at ten-thousand calorie garden (olive garden), and it is absolutely divine. The best soup I make is a potato cheddar soup. But my favorite, and most common, soup is a nice tortellini soup with kale and chicken broth. It's good year round.

The best soup I have made was really a light meal. I can't remember the exact recipe, since it was several years ago, but it contained fish stock, noodles, prawns (quite a lot of prawns), mini sweetcorn and sugar snap peas.
