Show us your first post!
We are all people from the internet. Some people have been here for long, some have not. Some people browse any forum they can find, some only browse here. Some people post here every day, some once per year. We share many differences, but there is one thing we have in common: we must have started somewhere!
What was you first post ever? No matter which forum. Quote it below! Looking back at it, did you improve your writing style? Did you improve your (English) language skills? Would you have written your first post differently? What is your forum experience? Tell us your story!

Re: Show your first post!
I'll begin!
I started back in 2013 on the wonderful AgeCommunity forums. (I joined one month before it shut down... great timing)
I started posting there and once I heard it shut down, I wanted to reach 100 posts. Overall, this was my first forum experience.
After AgeCommunity shut down, I joined the official forum and became #1 poster. (Yes, Jerom wasn't around) Over time the AoE3 forum died out and suddenly there was ESOCommunity, and here I am!
My first post was a bit random, apparently I just joined a random discussion about the ESO servers. December 2013, my first post:

Re: Show your first post!
Mine was quite sad. I expected to find a forum (agecomm) full of people that knew how to play, only to get advice from people that were worse than I was at that time.
I have also discovered the answer to my question: You probably don't really want to get more banks on EP.
My second post was comparing supremacy to treaty. Agecomm has taught me well.

My first post on the forums.
I joined the forums because I wanted to sign up for the betting event.
The people were so nice back then that I stayed and became active on the forums.

You're back!
My first post on here was in the xp mod thread where I gave a legit way of xp farming.

Does wiki count? That's where I started.
Cute. I like to think I kept to my word.
Looking back I think it's amusing how long it took me to start placing spaces after a comma/dot. I was a firm believer in saving those spaces.
Bonus post, both one of the first and longest posts I made on an actual forum (over 5 years ago):

I don't feel like fumbling around with Paint, so I will just post the link: http://forum.agecommunity.com/forums/th ... 04889.aspx
My username (and original ESO account) was Stuo5000. Back then, I thought I was a veteran because I had played against the computer for 2 years prior to joining the forums/using ESO. How wrong I was, lol. For those of you who don't know, Ivan Grozny is Good ol' Ivan (who seems to have disappeared again) and Immentice (also known as George) was a seasoned troll who is [thankfully] no longer with us.

I was posting regularly on Polish forums about Arsenal Football Club and FIFA Manager series when I was like 10 and 11 respectively. My English forums career is pretty short, so I'll just quote my first post on this forum from almost a whole year ago:

pecelot wrote:Recently I started playing treaty games more frequently, usually 2v2 with my friend on Orinoco. Currently I'm about PR23 in 1v1 so I think I know at least the basics of the game, but my knowledge about NR isn't that good apparently. I have some thoughts about the mechanics, I'm not sure however whether they are true.
I heard once that sending any military, eco or resource shipments aren't valuable in treaty, which makes sense for me. It is certainly better to send Economic theory, which improves your eco throughout the whole game, than i.e. 3 vills. On the other hand, when I was reading some tactics lately and noticed ones that included 3 vills, 5 vills, 1000g and so on. What should I do then?
What card order should one have? I used to send eco cards at first - wood or trickles in the beginning of the game, then Refrigeration and Royal mint, 2 Factories and after that Mills and Plantations upgrades. Is it right? When it finally comes to military cards, then what first? Production speed or strenght of my units?
What are the main priorities while playing NR? As a French player (OP!) I research HD in age I, then age up ASAP, in transition I cut some wood for other Market upgrades, FF, 3 TCs in age III, collecting only food and coin to advance to Industrial for Factories, then Imperial ASAP for Capitol upgrades and if I have much coin - Spies. Eventually transition to Mills and Plantations with an addition of Pens. Is it correct in your opinion? What BO should I follow when playing for example British? I heard that they build a Livestock Pen in the Discovery Age...
What are the most played maps on treaty? I know Orinoco, Deccan, Andes as well, what else?
Is it good to have an infinite card in your deck? I always try to have one and usually it is a shipment of around 20 native units which don't take the pop space but apparently aren't free (2000g). Are they worth it or they are completely useless?
Thanks for your answers.

Re: Show us your first post!
My earliest forum activity was on Medieval: Total War forums but they are all gone now. The first on agecomm was apparently this:
http://forum.agecommunity.com/forums/thread/513055.aspx
http://forum.agecommunity.com/forums/thread/513055.aspx
that's far from stupid. everyone has one ID with which they can be recognized. no faking and unlimited cheating/flaming/ other kinds of abuse. an old game i still play online, medieval total war(1) - have been there for over 4 years now - has become a total chaos because of unlimited accounts. the community is full of fakers and there were a few that destroyed players/clans on purpose, just for fun... they could just go around and flame everyone without us even being able to ban them from our games. they showed up everywhere, attacking you in the back as ally or quitting a game right as it started (which, in MTW, can be quite annoying, as loading and deployment in a game costs time).
so good job ES.

2007 Agecomm, I think. Speaking of, is Agecomm now gone? It just redirects to ageofempires.com. I had a lot of quality posts there I (used to) reread from time to time.

Spreadin' common sense since 2013. Looking back I'd have omitted the "bro."
