Whilst those theories do conflict somewhat. They don't.
Occams Razor = entities should not be multiplied needlessly
Schrodingers Cat = entities are multiplied because they need to be.

Seemingly opposite they are not.

Is the scale one that weighs 2 sides and balances them out, or just a normal scale that measures the weight?

@kami_ryu could you please clarify what 'only allowed to weigh once' actually means? I have a solution but I think it misses the point of the riddle.

There are 10 bags each with 100 gold coins in them. They all contain identical looking coins which weigh 1 gram each, except for one bag of counterfeit coins which weigh 1.1 grams each. You have an accurate scale but you are only allowed to weigh once. It's allowed to open the coin bags and handle the conis.
How do you determine which bag contains the counterfeit coins?

I know the answer, for once I found it without looking up the answer.

strangely enough I wracked my sad head for a good bit sober and couldn't find an answer but now, a little tipsy, it has come somewhat easily.

I was thinking of reviving this thread a few days ago too actually. Nice one. These counterfeit coin riddles are always a hassle. BRB thinking.

Answer to kamis problemo. Try and solve it yourself first though.
Are you allowed to take out coins?

Presumably just take out 1 coin from the 1st bag, 2 from the 2nd, 3 from the 3rd etc ...

Put all the bags on the single scale for your one "weigh"

The scale should read 954.x grams. 10-x = your bag number.
Well you can remove any number as long as they are different.

I will cheat and copy paste one from my favorite puzzling website, so no googling!
Left alone, I'm a word with five letters.

I'm honest and fair, I'll admit.

Rearranged, I'm of no use to trains.

Again, and I'm an overt place, warm and well lit.

What am I?

Now and for the past 2 years.

You don't have to weigh the 10th bag if you're feeling lazy, but sensible people will put in the effort for the neat solution.

I weight all the bags as many times as I want 'cause I don't play by no rules. 8-)

This is my favorite:

You are locked in a 50x50x50-foot room which sits on 100 foot stilts. There is an open window at the corner of the room, near the floor, with a strong hook cemented into the floor by the window. So if you had a 100 foot rope, you could tie one end to the hook, and climb down the rope to freedom. (The stilts are not accessible from the window.) There are two 50-foot lengths of rope, each cemented into the ceiling, about 1 foot apart, near the center of the ceiling. You are a strong, agile rope climber, good at tying knots, and you have a sharp knife. You have no other tools (not even clothes). The rope is strong enough to hold your weight, but not if it is cut lengthwise. You can survive a fall of no more than 10 feet. How do you get out alive?
