Thoughts on Bitstrips?

I don't understand how or why Bitstrips work. They are just weird cartoons that say people do things. Like why would you make that and share that to Facebook, or even worse set it as your profile picture for future employers to see. It is tacky/embarassing.

Heres your inclination: you can author your own bitstrip and friends and family can gather around and gawk at how chill, interesting, and athletic you are based on your bitstrip that says "Metis plays intramural basketball with friends". Then the picture would be a comic of you playing basketball with your buddies!

I think this is pretty accurate when regarding bitstrips, but also facebook and 9gag. A friend of me always used to say the Joke density was too low.

As you get older and experience more things you also tend to get a "been, there done that" attitude. A joke that might have impressed me when I was eight years old is probably going to seem rather inane now, especially since Ive seen hundreds of variations of it over the years. I suppose Bitstrips might be funny if they contained inside jokes and were distributed amongst friends or colleagues but one would have to be an insider to appreciate them. I once shot a two-page photo spread for my medical schools yearbook and captioned the pictures with jokes. The students in my program thought them hilarious but nobody else got them.

To me bitstrips are simply a low form of art, beneath people like us. No self respecting age of empires player would use bitstrips lest they me stripped of their rank
