Obviously each brand of cleaners has upsides and downsides. But, dollar for dollar, which brand is best? Which specific cleaner do you prefer? Please try to explain your reasoning.

I don't need anything but Metis, master of pools. I'm sure he will clean my pool if I buy him dinner and agree to listen to his erm stories.

See that's the best part. You, as well as arkz, pretend to take the moral high ground but at the same time you just cannot help being an ass.

Lol was I insulting someone?

Pretty ridiculous if you are getting mad because I said someone knows about pools.

We should have a sub-forum where all the body parts can get together and party.calmyourtits wrote:I''m this close to locking it and seeing what happens

I''m just not sure the extra features out way the obvious reliability issues. The damn things are made in China and experience motor/cord failure at a rate far higher than aquabots.

Almost everything thats affordable has at least 1 part made in china. Everything, including babies, are made in china.

Aquabots are made in the US of A. But does that justify their lack of features? And the fact that most of them still use bags?

Bags arent so bad, but the way to test this is to buy animal hair, lard, ketchup, boiled rice, and smear it over area of interest. Then test one vs other.

I hope not to offend anyone with this but baskets are clearly superior to bags. Its a bit ridiculous that aquabot has the audacity to put bags in a $1400+ cleaner in this day and age.

Ray-Vac dominates any other pool robot. Very simple design, very little to go wrong. I'm noticing few other posters here have little if any real pool knowledge (typical of the lower class).

Ray-Vacs certainly have the reliability that just about all robotic cleaners lack. But are they really superior to Polaris'' pressure cleaners? Seems like a myth to me

Polaris is also good if your pool is near trees.. annoying leaves.

I recommend cutting down the trees near your pool. Not only are the leaves annoying it will increase the chance of birds pooping in your pool, bringing up the dreaded nitrate level.

My ray-vac would demolish a Polaris in underwater battle, then suck up the scrap afterwards.fightinfrenchman wrote:evilcheadar wrote:Ray-Vac dominates any other pool robot. Anyone else got an opinion on these Polaris cleaners? The only mythology Im getting is that Polaris cleaners will work half the time.
