And theres some truth to it. Of course their are lots of factors that make it different: - America being a stronger democracy than Weimar in 1933 - Trump probably hasnt written a book called "Mein Kampf"
But in the end what i find remarkable is that people voted for a guy, no one really has an idea of what he stands for. If people had known what Hitler was going to do no one would have voted for him, they voted for him because they saw a saviour AND because there was just like now not really a better candidate ( in their eyes ). Personally I dont think that Trump values democracy or even sees himself as a democrat ( I dont mean the political party,just couldnt find a better word for it ). Its saddening to see people making the wrong decisions over and over again. Maybe im wrong and Trump will be a great president. But chances are very small.

The mistake of making Donald Trump president isn't THE mistake. It's just the consequence of many more mistakes that happened before that and as you already mentioned repeated over and over.
At the heart if it is greed of the status quo that drove people to choose someone who they think is the only one who can really change anything. I fully disagree with him being chosen president ofcourse and I think USA and probably the world is gonna have to suffer the consequences of him being at power. Bernie Sander would have been a much better president imo. Someone who probably wouldn't have been able to do alot like Obama, because the status quo wouldn't let him. But at least he would have tried and done everything he could. What I am fearing now isn't even something horrible like a new world war at the far end of the spectrum which in my opinion isn't even that unlikely with this idiot. But what I am truly dreading is the fact that he is probably just as worse as Hillary and will be an even greater puppet to satisfy the needs of corporations, multinationals and the uber rich.

I am not comparing Italy with America, I am just saying that there are bad politicians everywhere, Italy included. I prefer a racist president (I am not racist though, I am strongly against racism actually) than someone who spends people money for his business, traveling anywhere with money who should be used to improve the economic situation. On my nation, some politicians earn a lot of money and they don't care about people. That's a form of "stealing" in my opinion. And these politicians are everywhere on Italy , not only on the south of Italy. Anyway ye sadly there is a criminal organisation on the south, even though there are good people too.

Not really. It's a system that supports localism and regionalism over nationwide mob rule. It would be fine if there was no gerrymandering.

The polls were inaccurate because they influenced turnout by encouraging Trump supporters to close the gap with Hillary and vote.

I don't think people would have distrusted Sanders as much as they did Clinton. In a sense Sanders and Trump have a similar stance: to break down the "establishment."

However where Sanders has been very consistent throughout his life it is very hard to say the same for Trump. I think many of the people who chose to vote for Trump because they don't trust Hillary and want change would've easily voted for Sanders instead.

I don't think they will send us to a deathcamp. Why would they send all our stuff with us if they would just kill us later? We are essential to their war economy, they will only send us to work.

People who voted for Trump to punish the establishment are also those who consider the establishment to be political correctness. So even if they trusted Sanders to act against the political establishment, they wouldn't have trusted him to initiate anti-PC policies.

Trump voters are anti-mainstream media, anti-PC, anti-multiculturalism, anti- career politicians, anti-immigration. Sanders wouldn't have been the candidate to check all these points.
