Why do we trust you with something so important
Re: UI 2.1 Release
Putting aside the matter of absentcog for now, I will now safely assume that everybody has had a go at testing UI 2.1.
Since it is clearly very bug free, my to do list for 2.1 is as follows:
a) Fix UI for when there's way too many tps
b) Add a setting that combines SS+TC
However, there's a more pressing issue:
I've recently formulated a way to potentially use ai commands.
Most importantly, this gives me access to aiUnitGetTactic. This is something 99% of you will have never heard of, but it's been a missing piece in the obs puzzle for many years now.
What this means for the UI is that:
+It may be possible to detect
a) What resource a shrine is on
b) What resource a trading post is on
c) What resource porcelain tower is on
d) What setting summer palace is on
e) What setting firepit is on
f) What setting factory is on
g) What setting golden pavilion is on
e) What setting a dojo is on
(subject to updating delays)
But:
-The host of the game will need to install one AI file for it to work
-Actual release may take several more weeks of development
so.
Need opinions.
Delay full release for new feature, or release UI 2.1 for water maps?

Hmm...
I'd go with release, though I'd love to see new features in a future update.

I'd go with whatever your heart is telling you

Careful, that sounds like a possible hassle. Unless the installation of that file can be put into the ESOC launcher or something.

Especially the TP change seems VERY useful. Porcelain Tower/Golden Pavilllon can be seen anyways.
Summer Palace is quite useul aswell.
I'd strongly advocate for the new features.

Re: UI 2.1 Release
Go for the release, new features can be added later.
Re: UI 2.1 Release
Map download post has been updated with a pack of 9 ES Standard Maps, for use in the JCG tournament on 11th August. I hope that now with this wider range of maps, usage of 2.1 will become more widespread.
For ESOC UI 2.1 maps, I believe that the base maps have yet to be finalized, so you should expect them at some later date.

that's just disrespectful and rude
Re: UI 2.1 Release
Why no 4v4 obs? Such a nub!

i just don't feel like computers when I spend literally 9 hours a day on a shitty laptop either doing excel or shit-posting on esoc/reddit
that's gonna be done soon so i'll get back to gaming as i get some free time back to do more engaging things
Re: UI 2.1 Release
np m8, just joking, and I feel you sometimes, after work one does not necessarily launch AoE3
Re: UI 2.1 Release
lol there's a bug with the improvements display now, improvements continue to be shown in the UI after cancelling.
Don't have time to figure it out right now though, but it's probably best to delay downloading and then I'll fix it with a UI 2.11...

dw mate i'm just telling it how it is!
Re: UI 2.2 Release
Third post has been updated with 20 ESOC maps that work with UI 2.2 - thanks to @Garja
This brings the total up to 29 maps that are compatible with UI 2.2, and so there should no longer be any valid reason to use outdated UI 2.06 technology.
A reminder that UI 2.1c exes work with 2.2 as well, and that they are incompatible with UI 2.06- versions.
for sorting these out.Garja wrote:notification

Re: UI 2.2 Release
My maps aren't showing up in map selection. Does it work only online or does it work in LAN and skirmish as well? I'm new to the whole UI thing, but the spectator UI does show up in programs I am unable to install and my maps are in C:\Users\my user\Documents\My Games\Age of Empires 3\RM3. Am I missing something?
Re: UI 2.2 Release
I'm not sure where you try this, but for EP you need to put the maps in the separate „RMF" folder.

You need to check the "custom maps" option when hosting the game and select them at the very bottom of the list of custom maps.

It's saying that I don't have any custom maps loaded. I should have included that but of detail but I think I tried it after posting. Sorry for the noob issues.
Edit: I have closed and reopened the program a few times to no avail. So it wasn't due to adding the maps while the game was open.
