Premature resignation by Mitoe?

Post by rickytickitembo »

Game 2 on ESOCTV between Kaiser as Otto and Mitoe as India in case you missed it. Was it too early to resign?

That type of game just isn't fun to play.

"Well I've been age 3 for 12 minutes and still can't kill this age 2 ottoman army. My urumi all died before they could even attack. I've lost 30 villagres. GG. He's had stagecoach for the entirety of the game."

It's an easily formulated internal dialogue

Mitoe had a lot of food stacked. He probably could've gone back sent a shipment remasssed and won. He would've had to pull all his vills of the mine too though and Kaiser had army advantage (for the time being, mitoe can remass faster) and LoS control on all the other mines so it would've been difficult imo (but advantage mitoe overall).

Yes, because the battle had not yet taken place. He should have resigned after the battle and it would have been fine.

Lol of course he was going to win, Kaiser had no TC and couldn't move forward at all. Mitoe should not have reshigned!

I'm not sure tbh. I had maybe one more decent unit shipment if I stayed in the game for another minute or two, and then I'd be waiting almost 5 minutes for the next one. I shouldn't have resigned, for sure, but I don't think I necessarily win from this position. The entire game I was struggling to get coin, as my 2nd and 3rd mines were very exposed, and had only half a mine left that I could feasibly gather from. If he pushed that mine with his military advantage I don't see how I could win from the position I resigned from, to be honest. Whether or not I win would have been dependent upon how he played from that point.

But yeah, it was silly to resign. I had just assumed he had rebuilt his Town Center, but I should've guessed from the scores that it wasn't as bad as it seemed. Definitely should've played it out until he forced me off of that mine.

I agree with this analysis.

Btw I feel like youve resigned games like this one before.
