Civilization Rules:

Players will be told the map, and then both players will log out and whisper the host when they are both ready for the invite. Players cannot play the same civ in back to back games. If there are no casters, the players shall decide on a map and then log out, and relog in with their selected civilizations. All games shall be played in Champion Mode.

Map Pool:

Equal footing, Shelter pass, Arabia, Mountain Crossing, Coastal, Great Lake, Big Island, Treasure Island, Oasis

Starting Map / Round:

RO 32 - Mountain Crossing
RO 16 - Coastal
RO 8 - Arabia
Semi-Finals - Treasure Island
Finals - Equal Footing

Each map can only be played a maximum of 1 time per series. The loser of the previous game chooses the map for the next game. (ex. player A vs player B, Player A wins game 1, player B then picks the map for game 2. Player A wins game 2, Player B then picks the map for game 3.)

Veto Rule:

Each player gets 1 veto per series, regardless of how many games are in the series. Once either player vetos a map, that map cannot be played on at all in the series. The vetoes will be given out live during the matches at any time a player decides to veto a map. The player whose map it is to choose will state what map they pick. The caster will then ask the other player if he vetos the map or plays it. If a player decides not to use a veto, than the veto does NOT get transferred to the other player.

Casting Rules

  • It is every players responsibility to work with tournament staff for the casting of games.
  • Only casters that have been authorized by the tournament staff will be permitted to stream matches.
  • The players in casted matches will be required to schedule their matches with their opponents and with the authorized caster(s).
  • Players cannot refuse to have their games streamed. If this occurs it will result in an admin loss. If the player decides there is to much lag to play with the caster, then the player can choose to have another caster.
  • All streamed games must have a time delay of 3 minutes.
  • The tournament staff reserves the right to extend the deadline of the match if deemed appropriate.
  • No additional observers may be present in games.

Gameplay Rules:

  • Caster's can restart the game within 2 minutes as many times as they want if they discover map imbalances. Players can ask for a restart within 2 mintue if the casters find it worthy of a restart.

  • There is absolutely no smurfing allowed in this tournament. (Player's can only sign up with one account.). If a player is suspected of signing up with multuiple accounts we will look into it. If we find enough proof we will remove them from the tournament right away and they will forfeit any prize money they may have won. They will also very likely be banned from future ESOC events.

  • If a player wins a cash prize and fails to claim their prize within 1 month the prize will then be given back to the AOEO bank.

  • All games must have a recorded screen shot of the result and that shall be uploaded with the match result.

  • Balance patches may be released during this tournament, games will be played on the newest patch (It is only possible to play on the latest patches)

  • Very rarely AOEO games may crash in the middle of a game. If this occurs take a picture showing proof that the game crashed and send it to the casters. The tournament staff will then decide if the game needs to be replayed or if a player is losing convincingly then they will receive the loss for the game.

Scheduling Rules:

  • Players must respond with the times they are available to play in their dedicated scheduling thread.
  • Posts in scheduling topics will be considered along with interaction with admins when making decisions regarding scheduling. Other communications will not be considered.
  • Players cannot deny casters without consulting with the tournament admins first.

Seeding Rules:

  • The top 8 seeds are decided based off of last tournaments results. The rest of the players are seeded according to sparta rank.
