If you have any questions, please message myself (@Mitoe), or another member of the media team or tournament staff.
In case of issues with ESO, we want players to be ready to use GameRanger if necessary. This will be a short guide to help you ensure that Age of Empires 3 and the GameRanger client are tournament-ready.

1. Configuring ESOC Patch for GameRanger
As all ESOC tournament games must be played on ESOC Patch, you will need to make sure that GameRanger launches the correct version of the game.
All tournament games must be hosted via The Asian Dynasties on GameRanger. It is a simple process to configure GameRanger to launch ESOC Patch using the Patch Launcher:
Step 1: Open the "Options" menu in the ESOC Patch Launcher.
Step 2: Select the "Setup for GameRanger" option.
Step 3: PLAY!
To configure GameRanger to launch the Official Patch simply repeat the process and you will be prompted to setup ESOC Patch for use with ESO. Selecting yes will reconfigure GameRanger to use the Official Patch instead of ESOC Patch.
2. Finding Your Opponent and Playing on GameRanger
If you've never used GameRanger before, you'll quickly discover that players can share the same name without problem. This can result in some confusion if you're trying to find your opponent but find that there are FIVE different players named "Hazza54321."
Thankfully, there is a way to find and confirm your opponent! GameRanger uses an ID# system, which basically assigns a unique number to your account to differentiate yourself from other users. You can--and should--add your GameRanger ID# to your ESOC profile so that other ESOC members can easily find you on GameRanger:
To find yourGameRanger ID number, simply right click on your username in the GameRanger window and select "Show Info." You should get a popup window displaying all of your user information, including your ID number:
You can also use this window to confirm your opponent's ID number.
If you're uncertain about how to add your opponent to your friend's list on GameRanger, follow these steps:
Step 1: Go to the add friend menu.
Step 2: Enter your opponent's ID# into the "Account ID" field, and select "Search."
Step 3: Once you've added your opponent, host a game and ensure the game is listed as "Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties"
Step 4: PLAY! GOOD LUCK!
