Revised map pool for finals, Additional requirements for finals.
Original Map Pool : Tibet, Baja California, Klondike, Indonesia, Thar Desert, Parallel rivers, Malaysia.
New Map Pool : Tibet, Baja California, Klondike, Indonesia, Thar Desert, Parallel rivers, Malaysia, Gran Chaco, Hudson Bay.
New Maps : Gran Chaco, Hudson Bay.
How does this affect veto system in game 1?
- Instead of 3 vetoes per team now there will be 4 vetoes per team and the last remaining map shall be played upon.
- Rules from game 2 remain same.
Additional requirements for finals :
- All the players and casters are required to do speed test on SpeedTest and post screenshots before game 1 starts.
Additional Notes :
- If you experience lag at any moment in game refuse to play any further and wait for admin decisions. If game is played further the winning team will get the win.
Admins for final : @Cometk @princeofcarthage
Discord Nick (Weekend Tour Discord) : Cometk, Sav0ryBeef/Picoro1

Smart choice to do the speed test check, but if kynesie has secret lag switch?
Re: Revised map pool for finals, Additional requirements for finals.
Then it's out of Mankl's control. Only Garja may reach him at that point.

Im curious, what does ones download speed have to be in order for them to be disqualified? @princeofcarthage

Re: Revised map pool for finals, Additional requirements for finals.
Ping is more relevant than download speed in this case. Games can run smooth on low download speed, having high ping is what causes issues. In my arguably worthless opinion anything above 100ms is bad. (Playing only 1v1s makes me a bit biased since my tolerance for delay/spikes is insanely low)
Also, screenshots of speedtests could easily be modified, taken at the wrong time or from a different IP. Of course you have to put some trust in the players, but better safe then sorry imo.
I'd suggest you IP check the players in the game lobby to at least see that their IPs match with their correspondent screenshots from speedtest.net. If you go to Results History (doesn't require login) you can see what time the test was taken as well as what IP was used. This would not require much more effort and gives more credibility to the screenshots provided

Thanks to this speedtest, we will finally figure out who was lagging in the semi-finals!

That speed tesf along with speed shows ping as well and more than speed I intend to check ping which is more or less the cause for command lag in game afaik.

showing a speed test with a ping proves nothing. The speed test could be pinging a server 100 meters away from you

i'm 100% sure that the lag from titnesie has nothing to do with internet anyway. if this was a japanese anime, their element would be lag! Masters of Lag. Lagomancers. Lag Dancers. Lag Shamans. etc etc

Lag Shurks
Re: Revised map pool for finals, Additional requirements for finals.
You don't need a high speed connection to play AoE3. I would recommend doing a "lag" test by way of a 2v2 DM game, as this will also test the players' computers' ability to handle many units fighting.

At aoc you pretty much always play with 400 ping or more

Re: Revised map pool for finals, Additional requirements for finals.
Ping depends on the quality of the net where the quality is usually correlated to the amount of bandwidth you are given. Besides the fact that with more bandwidth you are more likely to keep a good ping if net is being used for other things than gaming.
