Used to be able to play this on my laptop with Windows 7 without any problems that I can recall, but I switched to Windows 10 and this isn't working whatsoever. It gives me this crash even when (in many combinations): deleted and reinstalled, switched to different compatibilities, turning off anti-virus, and turning on/off DirectPlay. Please help!!!

Strange! I have encountered this message but only when another game is already running in the background or when i click age3 icon twice. Are you sure you have all your graphic drivers updated and have the directx installed?

did you update graphic drivers after switching to win10 ?
EDIT: sorry, kinda dumb post, guy above me already asked same question..

Maybe the windows 10 messed up old directX and you might have to reinstall directX.

sorry @Pat4ever I was busy irl. Dunno it looks fine to me. One thing you can try is delete the NewProfile3.xml in
C:\Users\"username"\Documents\My Games\Age of Empires 3/Users3
(if it is TAD)
