I cannot find my Scenario folder.

Post by Kommander »

I am using the Steam version, alongside the vast majority.

I would like to delete some scenarios do I can host the ones I enjoy.

Thank you.

Custom Scenarios are located in Documents\My Games\Age of Empires 3\Scenario for all versions of the game.

Steam is a weird program. Most of the impactful game files are stored in Steam's folder, but a handful are stored separately under My Games (where everything would be located if you had the hard copy). Don't ask why - it makes no sense at all.

Yea... that used to cause me a lot of problems. It's just retarded.

This isn't something that's Steam's fault. AoE3 was ported to a "Steam version" with very few changes, as they didn't really have a lot of developers around to do it, and they also deployed that patch to all players with the game, so moving the savegame folder would have caused problems for existing players with the retail copy.

While some games are developed with Steam in mind, or have even special versions for Steam, many games are ports with little effort. Steam would be silly to enforce particular file structures on games, as it would greatly limit their game offerings.
