Non alphanumeric ESO account names?

How do you create an ESO account name with, for example, Jap characters instead of normal a-z, A-Z and 0-9?

I don't think you can do something a part copy and paste from internet. You haven't got a japanese's keyboard

The problem is not with typing the characters into the field, but with getting the game to accept it.

Perhaps it only works on those localisations of the game. With the Steam version, you can change your localization/language in the Steam interface and see if that works.

EDIT: Oh, didn't realize the Japanese version isn't available on Steam. In fact, is there a Japanese version at all?

There is a Japanese localization, but not on steam afaik. Characters should work, after all there's players like ?? around. Perhaps the game doesn't accept certain kanji for names? katakana should be fine though.
