0xc0000005 error

After my last windows update, I can't open Age Of Empires 3 (nilla & tad but not EP). I get the 0xc0000005 failed to open error. I deleted the latest updates, and my security scan was clear, the issue remains though. Any ideas?

Have you tried re-installing aoe3? Steam should have an option to verify the game cache. After that it should re-install the perquisites as well.

Turn off Compatibility mode for age3y.exe (Right click age3y.exe -> Properties -> Compatibility)
