Failed to Join Issue

Hello everyone!

I bought Age of empires 3 complete edition (steam version) on 03/07/2017 (this Monday) and i have that "failed to join" problem when trying to play multiplayer. I investigated, i tried to port forwarding and didn't work (pretty sure i did it right but i hope i didn't), the solution i came across with was to use vpn (hide.me) but sometimes it doesn't work, and i have to close the game disconnect and try again.

I hope someone can help me with port-forward or find me a better solution.

I could help you with port-forwarding but I don't think I'm free this weekend, but I'd suggest try Windsribe. Half of the community uses it

Well windscribe is working but i would like to fix it tho without using vpn connection. Thx

what ports do you have opened?

You would need to open the ports of all routers, not just the one directly connected to your computer.

atm i dont know what ports i have opened. manually i have none now, but i had port 80, 2300-2340 tcp and udp before when trying to fix. I tested with portforward network utilities and they were open, also had static ip, maybe some application im not allowing on firewall? Are autopatchers required?

What do u mean by opening the ports of all routers? Dont we only need to portforward to our internal ip?

You might have several routers between your computer and the modem.

Try disabling firewall.

Well i just found that my router has a "gamer mode" option. I've tested it and it seems to work, my only concerns are the safety of this option. Is it advised not to use?
