Cannot Get Nilla To Work

I have the complete collection through steam. When I launch nilla and try to go online it says updating game. Then says "Game needs to exit to finish downloading update" so I hit "ok". It exits and finishes download. Then I start the game again and then it does the same exact thing again!....I tried wiping the key from the registry and when I started the game again it asked for my cd key. I put it in and started it again. Same thing happened. Same thing over and over and over. My TAD works fine i dont get it. PLEASE HELP. I run windows 7 and the game through steam.

How do I disable auto updates?

I turned off windows updates and tried to launch the game and when I clicked Multiplayer/ES Online it started downloading update. Just on its own.

Things to try:
- Run the game as administrator, perhaps it''s running into permission issues when installing the patch.
- Install the patch manually. http://www.agecommunity.com/gameUpdates.aspx#english

Hang on. You installed the patch manually and it's still giving you the "your game needs to update" message?
Check in help and tools and about or something which version does it say you have?
Also, describe to me what happened when you opened the patch file.

you should right click on your game in steam library
go to properties
verify integrity of game cache

No it doesn't say anything it just updates automatically. when i launch the game the hit Multiplayer>ES Online it starts the update then when its done it says "game needs to exit to finish downloading" then i hit "ok". it exits...says "finishing installing update. A window pops up promting me to "run" or "dont run" . when i run it just says update complete or something like that.

And yes i installed the patch from the link u gave me. When I hit "run" it comes up as a WinZip self extractor(says unzipping aoe3-114-english.exe)It does this very fast then a black box comes up and at the top it says "c:usersuserappdatalocal empstandalonepatcher.exse" along with a small box that says "age3 updater" "age of empires 3 is up to date"

If i go to help and tools it does have the option to update game.....when i press that it does same thing that it is currently doing automatically
