Because it randomly says your game is up to date when it isn''t, and since the update process seems to be going just fine it looks like it''s updating the wrong installation somehow. I think the game (non-steam version) is in C:Program files (x86)Microsoft games by default. Does that folder exist for you?

No GoodSpeed I dont have a AOE 3 file under C:Program files (x86)Microsoft games........after i go to Program files x86 i have to go to steam/steamapps/common/aoe3

this will change the registry key of version of the game, so the game will recognize that you are with the version 1.14

(Open with Notepad and you will see it has nothing malicious)

You did something similar last page.

(GoodSpeed) I do still have an AOE 3 folder even after the uninstall and the Ccleaning.......Documents/my games/age of empires 3.......but thats where the folders like Data, home cities, startup, Savegame,screenshots, etc... I dont want to lose that stuff..

OMFG I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING AND ITS STILL DOING THIS BULLSHIT! UGH idk what to do......when i go to the registry to find: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftMicrosoft GamesAge of Empires 3, there is no "microsoft games" folder after microsoft.....but i keep deleting the aoe 3 folder under HKEY_CURRENT_USER

Shouldn't HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftMicrosoft GamesAge of Empires 3 be permanently deleted after deleting it? Then when i try the game again....it does the same thing again auto downloading update...i cancel it and exit the game, go back to registry and that aoe file is there again...once i delete that from registry and start the game again shouldnt it ask for cd key? it did that once yesterday so i entered it and started game but it still did the same thing! im so frustrated!!!

I did everything from all posts i have almost 5 gb of free space and yes did UAC and yes ran my Avast and CCleaner

Maybe I should just whip AOE off of my comp entirely...every single file that has to do with it including stream. Then just reinstall steam and aoe lol but i would lose all my maps, saved games, screenshots, etc....idk
