The problem is, Me and my friend recently bought Age of Empires 3, but now neither him nor i can join games. Everytime we try to enter a lobby it just gets the message "Failed to join the game". I would like to know if someone has a solution for this.

Have you tried all the suggestions in Veni's Guide for New Players? The guide should be on the left sidebar and has information on solving FTJ as well as other basic problem. Good luck!
