Can anyone make a mod to change the icons for these ones? Or at least to tell me how to do it manually. Current ones are very similar and misleading.

They confuse the fuck out of me. Up close it seems like the one holding a thing diagonally is the shooting guy, which is the irregular? Idk I just send both and hope for the best.

I primarily play Japan and India and I still don't even know which one is which in terms of which is the skirm unit and which is the pike. I guess randomly and it seems like 75% of the time I get it wrong.

same, I think sentries are the pike guys and irregulars are the shooting guys.

Yes. The way i remember it is the pike are always on the left (for india at least)

the way I rememeber it: skirmishers at front (they aim right) , pikes behind
