The next EP version will have a rec comparability tool allowing you to watch recs from previous EP versions.

Open EP2 launcher, go Tools -> Recorded Games Recognition -> Open .. -> Select your recorded game -> Launch -> Open the rec as normal (Help and Tools -> Recorded Games, the UI here has also been improved apparently!).
