task bar and start button broken

Hey guys, recently my entire taskbar stopped functioning properly. It started with the start button (even the shortcut) and the search button not working at all, then I believe a few days later, I stopped being able to right click on the programms on the task bar, it literally doesnt do anything. My attempts to google search have been unsuccesful, could anyone please help me out because this is ridiculously annoying. Or at least, for now, tell me where I could find the search function because I'm kinda missing the ability to easily find some applications :/

After the taskbar stops working there is nothing i could when it happened to me. But to prevent it people on some forums recommend using the fullscreen start option (imo it sucks btw). Few days back came an update and since then this problems hasnt bothered me.

Something similar happened on my old laptop. Have you gotten a "Windows Explorer (or something similar) has crashed" notification yet? Iirc it was a compatibility issue between my video card drivers and the windows update. You can try rolling back the video card drivers via device manager.

It's a bug in Windows 10, happened to my mom recently. There is a fix, you need to create a new User Profile, log into the new one and restart PC. Afterwards, both your profiles should be fixed and you can just use the old one.

Probably a bug but you could also run a couple of anti-virus scans also.

okay in trying to figure out how the fuck the user accounts work on w10 (why the fuck do theyh need my email or phone number wtf microsoft) I added some email for some reason and it seems to have fixed the problem if it wasnt fixed already lol. weird.

I was rather okay with it, only the lack of search function was annoying because I search for paint quite often

I have dual monitors so the extra monitor gives some things that ruin the screenshot. I usually crop it with paint, its the easiest way, then upload to imgur.
