You just don't get it. A vpn causes lag by design.
You are better off not playing at all if it will lag since you are ruining the game for yourself and others in your gameselectro eagle wrote:people would perfer that play games with lag instead they cant enter in this game

Re: this is how you fix FTJ
i wont leave AOE3 forever and i will play games with lag and your post mean that you want guys dont play AOE3 if they have semi lag and with solving failed to join will increase online people number
Re: this is how you fix FTJ
Let it go. You need to understand networking. There are many complications that could cause port forward to not work that are on your provider end.
If you can't figure out portforwaed then find a fast vpn and try to minimize the lag I guess.

Agree with these two. If you can't get port forwarding to work (maybe issue with your router or ISP or simply configuration), then you should try to resolve that. If it's your ISPs fault, then you are out of luck. VPN is tunneling your network activity through another net.. that will always be slower... and should not be used for gaming, unless your routing is extremely bad and the vpn takes the quicker route. Valve and Riot for example have their own optimised relays now which makes the experience really comfortable. See Riot Direct and their blog about it.
FTJ shouldn't be an issue to any literate user imo.

Re: this is how you fix FTJ
i need to be expert one to solve it (maybe issue with your router or ISP or simply configuration) and some people dont know what mean of that
VPN is simple solve and you can minimize lag by upgrading to Preminm mode it make your speed full over 150 mbit per Second and please dont reply without trying to upgrade and im sure it wont lag

Re: this is how you fix FTJ
You confuse bandwidth with latency. It's nice that you bring up a solution but I would say you are not clear on what you are talking about or perhaps a language barrier exists.
If I have a 1000 gb connection but latency is off some satellite it's still gonna lag the game.
I am guessing the majority market for VPN is to get access to streams or tv services like Netflix content. Those are not latency driven but rather bandwidth driven. Which is why premium would help. Unless you can get a promise of better latency I would not recommend upgrading.

Re: this is how you fix FTJ
I dont know why ( i tried to connect to canada country it minimized lag)
Re: this is how you fix FTJ
If you are talking about playing AoE3 and experiencing less lag, its perhaps your mate/opponent lives in/near Canada since this game runs on a peer-to-peer connection unlike some other games where two(or more) players have to connect to a server, if your opponent live in UK and you switch to France or any other nearby country you'll experience the best performance.
Re: this is how you fix FTJ
Guys, FTJ is litteraly driving me hopeless.
My router worked fine till recently, ISP claims they haven't made any changes.
Tried everything, port forwarding, dmz, vpn, firewall.
I really dont know what's going on : i can connect to approx. 3 out of 10 games.
Any other solutions for me please ?

Mind knowing which server or address to connect? Thanks
Re: this is how you fix FTJ
Ok, so i DMZ and it seems slightly better.
However, it worked maybe at 50%
The rest was 'the host canceled the game' when in fact he didn't and FTJ. I'm sure this is not a router problem.

Re: this is how you fix FTJ
Also, a small update on my issue :
I can join easily games with only one or two players, however when lobbies are full with only one slot remaining, i always get the FTJ.

Re: this is how you fix FTJ
VPN should solve it really, from what I've seen... Sometimes even simple restarts may help
Also if you can't get into certain rooms it may not be a problem on your end, just one player inside can have a weak connection.
