i was just thinkin...how on earth are you guys gonna get this patch widely recognized. Right now there are pretty much no games on ESO with this...

This. You can always play Standard aswell. And the longer this goes the more people will play the FP. Wait and see. The tourney will be played on FP aswell.xhuggels wrote:i was just thinkin...how on earth are you guys gonna get this patch widely recognized. First of all we are going to make sure it works as intended at which point it will be very user-friendly. Second of all we have made sure it's better than RE patch in every way to make it appealing. Third of all we have plans to promote and support the patch, including not least the tournaments.

I think we should consider balance changes that aren't optimal but appeal to the lower ranked players some more.

It it would benefit the adoption of the patch to any significant extent, I agree.

Not sure what the trick is to making the 2nd - 1st lts switch, but that's very important and we need to get more ideas from other people and those players aswell. I know the guys making the patch like in their own aoe community but they have to realize that theres more than that and that in long term this approach might make the game die faster.

lol wtf those maps are totally terribrusubzero wrote:I really want to see Araunacia and Ozarks too.garja wrote:Yes, it is possible that some more RE maps will be fixed. Dont think its going to happen anytime soon tho. Id say if anything, Yucatan and Himalaya are the next candidates.
It is also possible however than new custom maps will be created and included.
Andes is actually too OP, it is even more foody than GP lol.
Are you giving us for more new ESOC maps from you coming up? xDDD

What sort of changes would you propose?
What makes ~1st lt on the fence in the first place?

Im not sure, I suggest we discuss it with them.incog wrote:What sort of changes would you propose?jerom wrote:Not sure what the trick is to making the 2nd - 1st lts switch, but thats very important and we need to get more ideas from other people and those players aswell. 1st lt would want us to nerf japan/india which would make them unplayable at high level so no.
Then, we decided to do minimal changes but I think nerfing gendarms will make nr players and team players happy while we don't care.

We need to get the discussion started. How do you reach the 1st/2nd lts? Its really vital and I don't think we're really succeeding at it right now.

I don''t think it''s really possible tbh..... I mean the average 2nd lt who only plays 3x3 deccan has absolutely no reason to.

Problem is that the patch is a minimalist one. Were looking to stick as close to RE as possible and keep the civs quite unique.
For me, for low level players, its the snake biting its tail. Lower level players wont get the EP because other lower level players dont have the patch. Thing is, everything about the current patch is just good, especially the new maps.

To balance the lieut play we would need to nerf rush civs (like india/russia/azzy, otto's jan rush) and buff defensive civs (china, brit). That'd make the rush civs unplayable at high level and the def civs too op.
We'd also need to nerf japan because people don't know how to play against and they would be a bad civ while that's one of the hardest civ to play.

A completely different question: Why is Yellow River (Water one) not part of the classic ES QS pool?

IIRC it turned out it's not on RE either.

Only the dry version is in the quicksearch pool. Am I the only one who absolutely hates that map?

no. You made me rage by selecting a water map. I think we only played indonesia seriously once and I picked a land deck in denial of the water.
