[POLL] Schooners
Since maps are much more balanced now, do you think "schooners" card is necessary?

Re: [POLL] Schooners
I don't know why some civs should have it and others wouldn't. 40w for a fishing boat is ridiculous.

i dont mind schooners. offshore support / euro cannons needs to be removed though. or its effect changed.

I prefer it removed so that people don't go water early. Games are not supposed to last ages.GoggleEyed wrote:Give it to all civs?
Re: [POLL] Schooners
All 14 civs is aoe have their strengths and weaknesses depending on what map they are being played on, okay, Brits do have this extra advantage when it comes to a water map since their boom pays off quickly and can be fatal if left undisturbed, but ports, its boom starts in to effect after a considerable amount of time, after surviving waves of attack, so it actually needs schooners to come in the game faster.
I guess the French and the Germans are the only civs which lack the Schooners card and its pretty obvious too since the coureurs work at the rate of x1.25 more than the normal settlers and Germans have that undeniable op settler-wagon cards, like 2 and 3 sw cards.

Re: [POLL] Schooners
Schooners isn't an issue.
Re: [POLL] Schooners
Schooners is ok or else Nayuki or kynesie would not exist.

??? it's a completely unreasonable statement
Well, the only European civs who don't have access to it are Germany and French, possibly now the best nations in the game, so that shouldn't be a problem.
And still, there was already such a topic created

It's not unreasonable at all. Most supremacy players want fast games. If people really want to go early water, do it like _H2O.

well I think its a good thing that you have to spend a card for it.. I mean if you lose on land then spend a card and boom on water to still have a chance seems to me the way it should be (instead of having no chance at all), but the problem is like mentioned above if u play with french against brits whom already have a great boom.. And the brit also goes water its basicly gg, in my mind it seems better if all civs could do it.
Maybe increase the cost a little after schooners?

It's a strategy game, playing on water is an integral part of it

No. There should be a blitz mode if supremacy is not rushy enough.
Re: [POLL] Schooners
then you can always pick a different map

Schooners are not good in the first place.

Re: [POLL] Schooners
Iro is a bad civ in qs. They're barely viable on decent maps thanks to rams but that's really all they have.

Offshore support is the real issue because it makes warships the same range (maybe outrange?) Culvs, which is super broken. Euro cannons aren't nearly as bad because culvs still outrange boats.
Re: [POLL] Schooners
Well, shonners is not so incredible... It just make watter viable (is it possible to go water for fr or germans ?). But it's not like if it was a free win with this card. I think it's perfectly well. In addition, in new fp maps, there r never more than 4 whales in see, so u can't do more then 20 fishing boat, then it's not so great to have 20 vils for 2 ports=400w+20*40=800w+1card=600w->1800w, not great at all considering the risk it represent...
I think TPs in maps like HP give a better econnomy for a smaller investment.

Re: [POLL] Schooners
euro cannons offshore support is the same card, but the chinese/japanese ships have 2 less range. due to the shore line often that doesnt matter and the card is just as broken on them, as on euro ships.
